Just thought I would put together a quick promo/resource for those not familiar with the game and interested in finding out more.

It is a very fast paced game that can be played in as little as 20 minutes to over an hour depending on number of players and planes involved.  Basic idea is you take control of a WWI or WWII (two seperate games with simialr mechanics) and dogfight.  No map or game surface required.  Manuevering is done with a deck of cards that you pick the manuever(s) you want.  It is easy enough that my 9 yrs old daughter loves it and yet you can add some complexities with advanced rules.  The game is playable right out of the box or you can add minis (we all like minis).

WoW just had a release of minis for the WWII line and has a few more coming.  Both the WWI and WWII have a strong following.

Currently Available:

WWI Boxed Sets:
1. Famous Aces- Basic fighters

2. Watch your back-more fighters and two seaters

3. Burning Drachens-more planes, ballons, and altitude rules

3 sets of minis that cooresdond with the 3 boxed sets.

WWII
1.Dawn of war-Introductory set includes Spitfires, ME109s, Wildcat, Zero

2. Fire from the sky-Not yet released

Set 1 Minis-Just released

I love the WWII stuff.  It is a tough choice as both games have really taken off with the introduction of minis.  It appears that Nexus has been able to get production going and is starting to pick up on the release of minis.

The proofs are already done for Set 2 WWII minis and are suppose to be out in October:

Val
Stuka
Hurricane
De520

I am hoping a Dauntless will be in set 3 as that is the only model I cannot find in 1/200 scale right now.

I played the WW2 one for the first time last night. It was a lot of fun. I had a Wildcat, the other allied player had a Spitfire. We went up against two Zeros. My first "attack" was a collision with a Zero. The Spitfire did well, he managed to damage both Zeros, plus the damage from my collision. I finally got the hang of it and was able to kill both Zeros. They were already damaged so I just got the lucky kill shot.

Since then I've picked up Burning Drachens and a few WW1 minis for it.

I tried my second game today. I had a spitfire vs a 109. Horrible manouvering got shot to pieces. I just couldn't shake the 109.
