Newbie needs his hand held for the first battle. I know the rules of the game, that is not the problem, I am having problems figuring out the die roller thing. I didn't see where there was anything to download?

Quick clarification - I am assuming that the numbers start at the bottom, where the letters are, and go up from there. 1 would be closest to the letter E etc. Obviously this doesn't make a difference for my setup but it does for yours and how I respond. I mention this only because in the first scenario, which you were a part of, the numbers were reversed and the largest number was at the bottom or lettered edge of the map. Please clarify how you would like the numbers to run:
UP lowest at the bottom or near the letters
DOWN lowest at the top or opposite the letters
As I write this I am assuming that the map only has letters on one side?
Thanks

Also we have a problem. Only one of your ships depth charge attacks is at 6 (Roberts, or Engageant I believe), the other attacks at 5 (Butler or Ypres).
I was going to mention this with my last post, as I noticed the last turn you used 6 dice as well, but I forgot. Sorry. Based on the way you laid out your rolls, listing the Ypres first, the Ypres (5 die) rolled an extra die and that is the attack that hit the sub. I don't want to be a snit about it and if you can think of a way to revist the rolls that is more fair than just rerolling your first roll with 5die6, please let me know.
|
Sire Fred
|
OK I'll redo my roll.
Yprès at Truculent # 2.
Rolls: (5d6) - 1

Sire Fred

Looks like all your subs are fine and that I have only the Yprès remaining. Subs (especially Truculent) are really hard to sink by destroyers.
The best way to get them I think is to attack them with another sub.

How about if I roll a die Rolls: (1d6) and whatever that number is we remove that die from the original Ypres roll, with a result of 1 being the leftmost die.

O.K. taking the fifth die out would still result in 3 hits so that sub is crippled. How does that sound?
