Scenario #12 Cdr TaskForce57 (RN) vs KK Mad Ghost/0331 (KM)

Oct 5th, 1939. The Coast of Denmark.

Air Raid!

KK Mad Ghost, enemy aircraft spotted inbound. Defend the Capital ship which is undergoing engine repairs in a desolate bay after fouling her propellers in some fishing gear. Her destroyer screen is just over the horizon investigating submarine contacts. Direct the Luftwaffe support squadron's at the scene. The Capital ship must not be sunk!

Cdr TaskForce57. Acting on intelligence, the Home Fleet has launched a large scale attack using carrier aircraft against the unknown Capital ship. This is a golden opportunity, she must be sunk! Direct the Fleet Air Arm squadrons on scene and ensure her destruction.

Orders:

TaskForce57: Sink the Capital Ship

Mad Ghost: Defend the Capital Ship at all costs.

Map: Battlemap 06. No objectives. RN deploys to the west, KM to the east.

Order of Battle:
RN
Sea Hurricane (x12)
Swordfish (x5)

KM
Capital ship (To be announced)
Bf-109 (x8)


Other:
Capital ship is located where the center objective marker is. She is immobile.

All aircraft are considered land-based for scenario purposes. Aircraft are to be deployed each turn alternately, 1 squadron at a time.

Keep track of turns. On turn 5 KM surface units arrive to provide an AA screen. On turn 10 RN surface units arrive on scene.

Stacking Limits: All aircraft may be used each turn or kept in reserve at the discretion of the commander. A maximum of 3 air units from each side are allowed in each space. The airfields have no basing limits in this scenario.

Arrrrrrrrrrrgh!

I seem to remember that early war air  raids on German bases didn't yield great returns for a lot of aircraft lost.

Ok, lets do this.
